In San Francisco, they push policies that have made the city unaffordable and intensified the struggles of everyday people. San Francisco’s vibrant diversity and culture is being hollowed out.
With corporate media consolidation and control, there is an increasingly urgent need for movement media to push back against the nationwide onslaught of corporate lies and the narrative slop shaping public debate.
Fortunately, San Francisco has amazing independent media voices hell bent on setting the record straight online, in print, and in person. These journalists, podcasters, comedians, and influencers are generating hard-hitting content, challenging corporate disinformation and naming names. The problem is that in contrast to the corporate media, these independent creators are limited in resources and reach so their stories often get drowned out. Elevating and spreading independent content to the maximum number of people is essential.
PUML is connecting independent creators to align, collaborate, and mount a strategic response to challenge the narratives imposed by money and power. While billionaire-backed corporate media saturates with their well-coordinated fear and disinformation, we help voices break through and amplify working-class perspectives on the urgent issues facing San Franciscans today.
